# Plainville Historical Society

> The Plainville Historical Society, established in 1968 under the leadership of Ruth Hummel, preserves and shares the history of Plainville, Connecticut. The Historic Center at 29 Pierce Street houses a research center, museum, and offices with exhibits on the Farmington Canal, Native American heritage, African-American history, Alfred Hepworth paintings, and more.
